  • Create a sustainable future for COHA through our Legacy of Care.

Your donation will help COHA improve the quality of life for those living with or dying from advanced illness and also help provide bereavement support for families and loved ones experiencing grief. It is with the generous support of members, donors and sponsors that we are able to continue to provide these valuable services and supports to citizens from Oyama to Peachland through our specially trained volunteers. It is also through your donation that we are able to increase the number of volunteers as the requests for hospice service increases.

Personal Giving: Assisting with Current Needs
  • General Gift: Make a donation in your own name to help support COHA's programs and services.

  • Memorial Gift: A gift in memory of a loved one is a special way to support Hospice. It is often a thoughtful remembrance in place of funeral flowers. Many people make annual contributions in memory of loved ones. COHA will send a personalized card acknowledging your gift.

  • In Honour Gift: Special "in honour of" gifts are a meaningful way to commemorate a holiday, birthday, wedding, or other special occasion. The special person you honour will receive a card from the Central Okanagan Hospice Association acknowledging your generous gift.

  • Annual Giving: Become a Hospice yearly donor by planning an annual seasonal donation to support our expanding services and projects. Many donors add us to their Christmas giving list as a commitment to continued philanthropy.

Business Giving
  • Charity of Choice: Organizations are invited to select COHA as a charity of choice, encouraging employees to volunteer, hosting fundraising events, and promoting Hospice events.

  • Employee Giving: Many companies enable their employees to support COHA by designating a gift on a pledge card or through payroll deductions.

  • Sponsorship: Joining the "family" of COHA sponsors is an excellent way for business to give back to the community. Our program support office can provide details about events and programs through either cash or in-kind sponsorships
Legacy Giving: Ensures the Future of Hospice Care
  • Will Bequest: You do not have to be rich to make a Will bequest; it can be made no matter how old you are and it can be for any amount you choose. A bequest is easy to arrange. Simply ask your lawyer to include a bequest to Central Okanagan Hospice Association in your Will.

  • Life Insurance: A gift of life insurance is an easy way to make a substantial gift to COHA. You can either name COHA to an existing Life Insurance Policy or purchase a new policy and name COHA as the owner and beneficiary.

  • RRSP’s or RRIF’s: Retirement funds constitute one of the major assets of most people. If you are creating a new RRSP, simply name COHA as the beneficiary. If it is an existing RRSP or RRIF, the financial institution holding the investment can provide you with a Change of Beneficiary form in which you would insert Central Okanagan Hospice Association.

  • Charitable Remainder Trust: A charitable remainder trust provides flexibility when planning your estate. It is an attractive option if you wish to eventually give your assets to COHA, but need the income it provides now, or, you do not wish to part with your assets now.
